Rich and varied,Mina's discography is ever-growing industry in itself and countless compilations sometimes tend to overshadow original albums (last time I checked, she had five compilations released simultaneously). This one has singles hand picked from present time and than it goes backwards - not to her "Tintarella Di Luna" legendary beginnings but to early 1970s when her Ice Queen persona was firmly established. The story follows some 30+ successful years, plenty of singles and various music styles - as any veteran knows, the secret of longevty is to simply adapt to new times. Personally I don't find new material as half as interesting as early 1970s singles but it's simply that with all that discography we are spoiled for choice. Most of her classic albums are still in print (even "Canzonissima '68") and my impression is that new work is more or less disposable - what count is legacy already achieved and cemented decades ago. Ask any italian.
